The annual Tamebay 2021 Black Friday Speed Test is complete. It’s our annual small scale test of the resilience of deliveries over the Black Friday period, at 9.30am on Black Friday morning we placed 15 orders split across the largest three UK general marketplaces – Amazon, eBay and OnBuy, and this is Update #3 based the the statuses this Sunday.
In this final update the final parcel has arrived, somewhat surprising as the delivery estimate was anywhere between the 15th of December and the 1st of February, so there was a good chance it wouldn’t have arrived until the New Year. But, a great result with all items being safely received well in time for Christmas.
Overall products were largely delivered well before the earliest estimated delivery date and only two were delivered later than the latest estimated arrival day. Bearing in mind that Black Friday is traditionally the busiest time of year that’s not bad at all.
Overall, deliveries arrived just under 1.9 days earlier than they were promised. The range (for earliest expected delivery date was six days early to five days late. 12 deliveries arrived earlier than anticipated with only 3 arriving past the earliest delivery date and only 2 later than the latest estimated date of delivery.
