Amazon have announced a pallet shipping rate increase for Partnered Carrier programme pallet shipments sent between the UK and the EU. The pallet shipping rate increase will be effective from the 1st of October 2021. This increase to shipping rates is as a result of a brokerage fee promotion coming to an end.
Partnered Carrier programme rates that are charged in Seller Central will now include:
- Transportation rates (existing cost)
- Brokerage fees (new cost) applied by the carrier (Kuehne + Nagel) for moving stock across the UK-EU customs border.
Shipments that are sent between the UK and the EU must clear a customs border. If you ship with Kuehne+Nagel and do not have a legal entity in both the UK and the EU, a customs broker must provide indirect representation for your shipment. Before you create your shipment in Seller Central you need to ensure that you have a suitable customs broker and confirm that Kuehne+Nagel can support your shipment.
As previously announced, to assist sellers with this change, Amazon covered these customs brokerage fees during the post-customs-border promotion (from 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2021) and will continue to do so until 30 September 2021.
This change will result in a rate increase to the cross-border Partnered Carrier programme pallet shipping rate between the UK and the EU of between 13% – 69%, subject to the number of pallets shipped, shipped-from address and destination Amazon warehouse.
You will continue to be responsible for managing customs duties and taxes, and any other associated costs of shipping stock across the UK-EU border.
